Hello everyone! My name is Mackenzie Kathleen. I am an elementary school teacher by trade. I LOVED school as a kid! Still do! Just like my darling parents I never wanted to leave school. I didn't want all the fun to end! So I decided to be a teacher and have never looked back.

Another one of my passions is making our 110 year old farmhouse into our home for myself, my sweetheart Jake, and our Boston Terrier Rookie. Jake works very hard as a farmer and lives part time in Quebec playing football. 

ShantyBabes Farmhouse has become a term of endearment for us since November of 2014. Jake and I grew up in Shanty Bay, Ontario. Just over a year ago purchased our own home just down the road from his sweet parents farm and my family home too! Ever since we then we have lovingly referred to our home as the ShantyBabes Farmhouse! I stay busy as I am very fortunate to travel with Jake which means touring Montreal (the food! the shopping! yikes!) and teaching/ thrifting/ homemaking/ farming/ spending time with loved ones back home (especially our dear sisters!!) I love having fun travelling and being fancy with my gal pals!

This blog has a little bit of all my favourites! I'll be talking family, home decor, travel, recipes, garage sales to sporting events and everything in between! More than anything I am excited to share my little world with you! Thanks for stopping by!
